I’ve always loved fashion.

In high school, I got occasional compliments on my trendy 80s fashion… pegged pants (our version of skinny jeans), colorful over-sized sweaters, high collars, shoulder pads, big earrings, and bangs that defied gravity.

Me, in a thrifted vintage dress. |
With my limited college budget, I took a job at the local Goodwill just so I could get a sneak peek of the latest arrivals and feed my clothes addiction without draining my bank account.
And, then I got married and had kids. Working full time while trying to fulfill my roles as wife and mother, sucked the creativity right out me. Now, my kids are at a point where they don’t need me as much. With practices, sleepovers, and extracurricular activities, I am now able to sneak in some “me” time. And, what do I do with my new-found “me” time? Shop, of course!
I quickly realized that my knack for finding stylish bargains came back to me, and soon, I was getting compliments on my fashion finds at work. This only fueled the clothes addiction that I had been suppressing for years. I started shopping more and more. Even though I don’t have the constraints of a college budget, I do have a family to support, so to save the bank, I started shopping at Goodwill again. Every time I went, I would challenge myself to find an outfit, or something…a scarf, a piece of jewelry, a shirt, a pair of shoes...that inspired me.
And, that is what this blog is about...finding inspiration from the things you love. Too many of us suppress our creativity because we’re too busy, too tired, too poor, too overwhelmed, too numb. It's there, you just need to find it. Hopefully, this blog will inspire you to find and embrace your creativity, whatever it might be.
